I gave a listen to Dew as was cued up, and it displays everything I pointed out except maybe the flubbed vocals. I couldn't listen all the way through. It's not really necessary for me to dissect it, but it suffers through the same malaise that's present on many of the latter years shows. Mickey Hart couldn't keep time if he had a Rolex strapped to his sticks. Garcia veers off key in his vocals, and his guitar work is lacking. The band, in general, lumbers along with the fleet footed pace of an iceberg.

I understand the "I was there" situation and that proves my point about objective listening. It also shows we all have a "frame of reference" which we build our subjective experience around. My frame of reference are shows I attended between '71 and '78, so anything before or after is lacking in my subjective opinion.

It doesn't make you or me wrong, it just makes us biased.
